Investing is about making money. That seems obvious, yet some investors want to moralize their investments.
A specific group of investors wants to only invest in companies they believe to be moral or ethical industries. Without getting into moral philosophy about which set of ethics, this is an absurd financial view because you are limiting the number of publicly traded companies you can invest in on the stock market. This eliminates a few main sectors that people may bring up in the comment sections on financial investing websites which commenters often consider immoral: defense, military, so-called dirty industries (coal, oil, and mining stocks), and tobacco.
