Revealing 3 Ways To Stop Being Helpless Against Your Depression
Do you feel helpless against depression? Stop being helpless. Beat your depression!
Depression negatively affects your productivity and well-being.
Depression makes even small things seem difficult.
You're fighting against the depression monster each day to do simple things.
You may struggle to even get out of bed.
I'm familiar with depression. I struggle with it. I have found three main ways to fight against the depression monster.

🚨Problem: You're Not Getting Enough Exercise
Computers, social media, working from home, and the internet have made people sedentary.
Your brain doesn't make enough happy chemicals when you're depressed.
You're tired. You're sad. You feel stuck all the time.
You might not even want to move. You may not even be able to get out of bed.
I understand the struggle. There are some days when I can’t get out of my bed.
✅Solution: Exercise Is A Natural Mood Booster
Exercise, even ten minutes a day, can make a difference.
Why?
Exercise releases endorphins in your brain.
Endorphins spark happiness.
You don't need to run six miles a day. You don't need to lift heavy weights. You don't need to spend hours at the gym.
It could be as simple as:
A short walk
Dancing to music
Playing outside
Doing yardwork
Doing exercises in your office.
😎Why Does This Work?
Moving your body gives you more energy.
Consistent exercise helps you sleep better.
Exercise gives you a sense of control.
You prove to yourself each time you exercise, "I can do this!"
Exercise is a small win against depression.
Regular exercise improves your mental health.
❓What is your favorite exercise?
Mine is the rowing machine.
🚨Problem: Chemical Imbalance
Depression is a result of a chemical imbalance in your brain.
No matter how hard you try to be happy. No matter how hard you try to push through, you're unsuccessful.
It has nothing to do with you. It's because of a chemical imbalance in your brain.
✅Solution: Antidepressants
Doctors can prescribe you antidepressants. These are medications that help to fix your chemical imbalance.
Antidepressants take time to work. But they play a role in improving your mood.
You'll be able to think more clearly again. You'll be more stable. You'll experience fewer mood swings.
😎Why Does This Work?
Medications take away the heaviness.
You now have the energy to do the things you love.
You can now make time to exercise.
You can go to therapy.
You can be productive again.
You can work.
🚨Problem: Negative Thought Patterns
Depression traps you in negative thinking.
You continue a downward spiral.
You believe that life can never get better.
Depression makes you have bad thoughts, like:
"I’ll never be happy."
"I’ll never be good enough."
"Things will never get better for me."
Negative thinking and a fixed mindset make your depression worse.
✅Solution: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) teaches you to recognize negative thoughts.
Cognitive behavioral therapy helps you change from negative to positive thinking.
You learn to ask yourself, "Is this really true?"
You start to replace the lies your depression tells you with positive and true thoughts.
I was skeptical of therapy. It took me a while to find a good counselor. It is nice to talk about things and receive feedback from someone I don't know directly.
😎Why Does This Matter?
Therapy teaches you life skills for managing negative thought patterns.
There can be many things that cause your depression to return.
It provides an outlet to discuss your problems when there may be people in your life who don't support your goals.
Cognitive behavioral therapy works great when you combine it with exercise and medication.
✅Why All Three Work Best Together
Your depression traps you inside your mind.
Exercise gives you quick relief.
Medicine stabilizes your mind.
Therapy guides you in understanding your thought patterns, concerns, and how to address them.
Using all three tools gives you the best chance of beating depression.
✅How To Start Today
Prioritize ten minutes for exercise: Walk, stretch, dance, or go to the gym.
Talk to your doctor: Medication may help you if the depression is not going away.
Find a therapist where you live: Seek out a good therapist who practices cognitive behavioral therapy. Ask your doctor to refer you to a therapist. Or you may know someone else who has seen a therapist.
🏁Summary
You can feel better.
You can conquer depression.
Implement these three strategies to start to deal with the depression monster.
