The role of the education and higher education systems is to make you a good employee. Self-learning is needed to build wealth. Self-learning and entrepreneurship complement each other.
Society says that to do well, you must be highly educated: a bachelor’s degree, a graduate degree, and/or a Ph.D. The problem is doing well academically doesn't mean that you will get a good job in the field that you studied. There are also different types of intelligence, yet academic smarts are placed on a pedestal. The reality is that self-learning is the most powerful type of learning. Self-learning is the path to entrepreneurship.

The purpose of the education system is not to make you literate, proficient in math, or do anything that the widely held view about it is. The role of the education and higher education system is to make good employees for the big corporations. What are the traits of good employees:
A good employee will always say “yes.”
A good employee will always do what they are told without question.
A good employee will always take on more work, even if they don’t want.
A good employee is obedient.
A good employee does not stand up for themselves.
A good employee does not think critically.
A good employee will not go beyond their skills.
The education system trains people to be good employees with the test system. I argue why young people should not go to college here, here, and present other options to college here. Better alternatives to the legacy education system are available today due to the Internet.
The good news is that there are now many alternatives to the traditional education system. This gives parents the ability to educate outside of the legacy education system. This gives parents more control over what their kids learn, which they may need to learn about in the traditional education system. You have plenty of options to learn new skills to improve yourself. It also gives young people access to people who have real-world experience compared to learning from a professor who only has book knowledge.
Online education is one significant aspect that is displacing the legacy education system. Self-learning is also critical to entrepreneurship.
