On office politics and gossip. I’d say this still happens on an industrial scale. In fact, being remote allows people to have one on one conversations without having to nip into a quiet corner of the office. Press a button and you’re able to jabber away to your hearts content without anyone knowing. Who knows what conversations are happening behind closed team conversations.

Depending on the software, people can still press mute or have private conversations. If it is a big enough concern to a company and the company has the resources, the IT or cybersecurity team may be able to find a solution.
I don't disagree. Some larger businesses would only consider doing it to ensure critical business information is not shared between departments, off company servers, or stolen. - James
